No signal, the first recording work as a leader, sees Daniele Vianello engaged at the head of a tested trio - dVt stands for Daniele Vianello Trio - completed by two Venetian musicians, guitarist Dario Zennaro and drummer Davide Michieletto, former members of a original training, Quartoinfolio. The three seem to share the intention of experimenting with all the innumerable and varied expressive possibilities offered by a bare and essential formation, but very flexible, like that of the "guitar-bass-drums" trio. The constant search for an original and recognizable sound is strengthened by the decision to perform almost exclusively his own music (the only standard of the album is the opening song, Alone together, but also a beautiful composition by Tino Tracanna, Danzon, in which Vianello cleverly uses the bow). In the remaining pieces the main contribution of composition is provided by the leader (but how could it be otherwise?), Although the weight exercised by Dario Zennaro - which plays both the acoustic and the electric guitar - is particularly striking here. They feel, even if filtered by a very personal language, the influences of John Scofield (College, a song that the guitarist had also proposed with Quartoinfolio, and Bobbolo), Bill Frisell (The wind) and Pat Metheny (Six too many, Falastifelio) . But even more original are the roads traveled by the trio in Pigrone and Dedevane, intense ballads by Vianello, in the amusing and playful Zamparo motive, as well as in the lyric Giulia, the only composition by Michieletto. The melody of this piece is also a perfect launching pad for the bass player, who shows an excellent intonation, a deep cavity and agile phrasing. " Caligola Records
